The Mirror has Two Faces

A beast hiding behind the mask of a lamb,
Crouching under the flamboyant cloak of disguise,
Hideously concealing under the ordinary,
Bordering on the mediocrity.

A crowned royalty of pretense,
Wreaking havoc on people's trust
Slithering through like a common thief.

Looking in the mirror,
There's a sudden impulse of brief contemplation,
Two reflections looking back,
Sneering, as if to ask,
"Which one is the real you?"

A million fragments lay upon your feet.
A dash of crimson stains the soul.

And there I am,
Lurking in the shadows,
Contemptuous,
Watching your life in ruins.

Crossover

Trapped inside the cracks,

Madness slipping through fractured time.

Vivid colors in turbulent strokes,

Trailing half the sky

Draped in tenderness.

"Let someone love you just the way you are - as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel and as unaccomplished as you think you are.

To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room."

"Sometimes, you can't explain what you see in a person.

Only that they take you to a place where no one else can."
